SEOUL, KOREA - Korea’s beverage exports exceeded the level of US$200 million last year, according to the Korea Agro-Fisheries & Food Trade Corp. The nation’s beverage exports amounted to $226 million last year, up 22.6 percent year-on-year.This is the first time for the nation’s beverage exports to surpass the $200-million mark. This milestone is achieved in two years after the nation’s beverage exports exceeded the
$100-million mark in 2010.
Main export outlets were the U.S., Japan, China, and Russia. The nation’s most exported beverage product was Aloe Vera from OKF. OKF, founded in 1990, is a Korean manufacturer of beverage products which has been shipping 300 kinds of products to 150 countries worldwide.
An OKF official said, “We started exporting Aloe Vera from 1990 and are now selling it in 150 countries. Aloe Vera is popular particularly in the U.S. and Russia.”

'음료 수출 2억불 시대' 옥수수수염차 제친 수출 1위는
국내 음료 수출이 2억달러 시대에 접어들었다.
22일 한국농수산식품유통공사(aT)에 따르면 지난해 한국음료 수출액은 전년 대비 22.6% 증가한 2억2600만달러를 기록했다.
음료 수출액이 2억달러를 넘어선 것은 이번이 처음이다. 2010년 1억달러를 돌파한 이후 2년만이다.
주요 음료 수출국은 미국, 일본, 중국, 러시아 등이다. 미국에서는 알로에음료가, 일본에서는 대상 '홍초'와 광동제약 '옥수수수염차' 등이 인기를 끌었다. 러시아에서는 롯데칠성음료 '밀키스'가 음료 수출 견인차 역할을 했다.
지난해 가장 많이 수출된 제품은 OKF의 알로에음료 '알로에베라'인 것으로 나타났다.
OKF는 1990년 설립된 국내 음료회사로 현재 150여 개국에 300여 종의 제품을 수출하고 있다.
OKF 관계자는 "1990년부터 '알로에베라' 수출을 시작해 현재 150개국에 판매하고 있다"며 "특히 미국, 러시아 등에서 인기가 높다"고 말했다.
다음으로 과즙음료인 웅진식품 '자연은'과 롯데칠성 '델몬트', '홍초', '옥수수수염차', 롯데칠성 '밀키스' 등이 뒤를 이었다.
성장세가 두드러진 제품은 빙그레 '바나나맛우유'였다. 지난해 바나나맛우유의 중국 수출액은 1000만달러에 달했다. 이는 전체 중국시장 음료 수출액(3100만달러)의 3분의1 수준이다.
빙그레 관계자는 "지난해부터 중국시장에서 '바나나맛우유'의 매출이 급상승하고 있다"면서 "한국을 찾는 중국인 관광객들이 늘어나 입소문이 나고 중국에서 편의점 등 유통망을 확대했기 때문"이라고 설명했다.
