SEOUL, KOREA - Google’s annual sales passed the $50-billion mark for the first time in its history. The company announced on January 22 that it achieved annual sales of $50.2 billion last year. Its fourth-quarter sales amounted to $14.4 billion, up 36 percent from a year ago.A Google official said, “Google achieved a better-than-expected performance in the fourth quarter of last year. The $50-billion milestone is achieved in 15 years after founding.”
Google posted a net profit of $2.89 billion in the fourth quarter of last year, up 6.7 percent from a year before. Its annual profits marked a positive year-to-year growth of 10 percent to $10.7 billion.

구글, 지난해 매출 '500억 달러' 넘었다…설립 15년 만의 성적
구글의 지난해 연간 매출이 처음으로 500억 달러를 넘어섰다.
구글은 22일(현지시간) 연간 매출이 502억 달러를 기록했다고 발표했다. 지난해 4분기 매출은 144억 달러로 집계됐다. 지난해 같은 기간에 비해 36%나 증가한 수치다.
래리 페이지 구글 최고경영자(CEO)는 "작년 4분기에 예상치를 상회하는 실적을 올렸다"고 밝히고 "작년 502억 달러 매출은 설립 15년 만의 실적으로 나쁜 것이 아니다"라고 말했다.
4분기 순익은 28억 9000만 달러로 전년 동기에 비해 6.7% 증가했다. 연간 순익은 10% 늘어난 107억 4000만 달러를 기록했다.
