SEOUL, KOREA - GM Korea is set to release the new Chevrolet Trax on February 20. The Small SUV is embedded with a 1.4-liter gasoline turbo engine. To produce the engine, GM Korea made a new production line last year at its Bupyeong factory.On the North American standard, the 1.4-liter gasoline engine has a maximum output of 138 hp and a 14.9-kg.m power. Compared to the-1.6 liter engine mounted on the Aveo, the gasoline turbo engine has a 24-hp higher output.
Chevrolet claimed that the Trax achieved a maximum output of over 140 hp and a 19.6 kg.m torque through a dedicated tuning.
Considering the performance of the 1.4-liter turbo, Chevrolet added that it is an optimal choice to avoid interference with Captiva and Aveo which are mounted with diesel 2.0-liter and 2.2-liter engines.
