SEOUL, KOREA - Samsung Electronics, the official sponsor for Confederation of African Football in electronics category, unfolds a variety of pre-season marketing activities for 2013 Africa Cup of Nations which will be held in five major cities in South Africa from Jan 19 to Feb 10.

Under the slogan “Our Passion Powers Africa,” Samsung Electronics started marketing campaign in seven countries including Ghana, Nigeria, Ivory Coast, Angola, Zambia, DRC, and the Republic of South Africa where football fans can experience its latest products and the brand. With twenty eight Samsung Fan Zones built in 15 different African cities, Samsung will offer hands-on experiences for its flagship Galaxy Note II and Galaxy III, along with Smart TVs.
Samsung has designated famous footballers representing each African country as brand ambassadors and produced a theme song and music video for this campaign, which could be tweeted and liked at various SNS platforms or published as news articles by Samsung Youth Reporters, three promising young adults who participate in Samsung’s CSR program in Africa.
Kwang Kee Park, Samsung’s President and Chief Operating Officer for Africa, said, “This campaign is expected to establish Samsung Electronics as Aspirational Brand by offering chances for African consumers to experience our latest technologies while enjoying football games.” He added, “Africa Cup of Nations is the main international football competition in the region where 16 African national football teams join and viewed by captive audience of 6.6 billion people.”
