SEOUL, KOREA - LG Electronics has introduced on January 31 a new LTE smartphone model "Spirit 4G" in the United States through a local mobile phone service company MetroPCS. The Spirit 4G, according to the company, is a strategic model to move into the U.S. market in earnest.

Equipped with a 12-GHz dual-core processor, the latest Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system, and the VoLTE (voice over LTE) feature, the Spirit 4G boasts top-of-the-line specs. It comes with an external memory slot that can allow memory expansion of up to 32 GB with an optional memory card. The model has also adopted a 2,150-mAh large-capacity battery for user convenience.
Following the launch of the first LTE smartphone model "Revolution" in May 2011, LG Electronics has unveiled a series of LTE phones such as the Connect 4G in August last year through MetroPCS. The company aims to take the leadership position in the U.S. LTE market by introducing more state-of-the-art models.
