SEOUL, KOREA – Following many years of untiring endeavors to crawl out of deficit, Hana SK Card has successfully entrenched itself in the mobile card sector. Armed with 600,000 Hana mobile card users and KRW 12 billion in monthly mobile transactions, it now boasts its dominant market share lead in the mobile card sector.
At the center of such remarkable achievements is Hana SK Card Mobile Marketing Team, a specialized taskforce set up in April of last year.
Taking charge of issuing mobile cards and other relevant tasks, Hana SK Card Mobile Marketing Team is now pressing ahead with its own partnership deals.
The team has adopted a password-based, hassle-free mobile payment service for the first time in Korea, therefore securing a huge pool of m(mobile)-commerce member stores, nearly 90% of Korea’s online market.
As soon as Hana SK Card Mobile Marketing Team was formed, it charged ahead with the expansion of member stores and process innovations. The team actually had to make things out of nothing since mobile card payment services were non-existent several years ago.
Hana SK Card has struck partnerships with large discount stores (e.g. E-Mart, Home Plus and Lotte Mart), convenience store changes and department stores including Hyundai Department Store. On the m-commerce front, approximately 200 online shopping malls, including Auction, Gmarket, Coupang, accept Hana SK mobile cards.
The team has also made continued effort for technological innovations.
As of now, Hana SK Card has seven mobile payment patents under its belt. Besides, differentiated smartphone apps, such as “NFC-based Reading App” that enables smartphones to automatically read card information, were also developed for Hana SK mobile card users.
