SEOUL, KOREA – SK Group has set up a consolidated information system that covers all of its affiliates. Each affiliate’s existing system will go hand in hand with the integrated information system until the consolidation process is completed.
SK C&C is making preparations to build a purchasing solution-centered information system that encompasses all of the SK affiliates including SK Telecom, SK Hynix and SK Engineering & Construction.
SK Group’s integrated information system is designed to first reduce the IT gap among its affiliates and then spread the most advanced IT model to other affiliates. Not so many groups have made such moves to adopt an integrated information system: only Samsung and Hyundai Motor Group are among those early adopters.
SK Group’s integrated information system is mainly about setting up a streamlined purchasing system by grafting SCM solutions on to ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) systems. In addition, it is believed to allow SK affiliates to share their resources with one another through cloud systems.
