SEOUL, KOREA – Humax has set a goal of reaching over 20% growth by leveraging its next-generation broadcasting business including home media servers. In addition, Humax will raise its global market share by proactively making forays into the South American and Middle East markets where the transition to HD digital broadcasting services has kicked into high gear.
As 95% of Humax’s sales come from abroad, this major exporter has set its 2013 sales goal at a whopping KRW 1.2 trillion.
Set-top box manufacturer Humax is also poised to take on the North American cable market with its home gateway servers that enable the building of a residential media hub.
Having succeeded in mass producing hybrid set-top boxes that enable the reception of YouView (a British hybrid Digital TV service), Humax rushed to put the set-top boxes on the British market. In the North American market, Humax is working on home media platform projects in collaboration with Satellite TV Provider DirecTV and Comcast Corporation.
