SEOUL, KOREA - Samsung’s products were nominated to 7 categories at this year’s Mobile World Congress, including Best Smartphone, Best Feature Phone or Entry Level Phone, Best Mobile Tablet, Best Mobile Enabled Consumer Electronics Device, Best Mobile Advertising or Marketing on Mobile, Best mobile Infrastructure and Best Mobile Technology Breakthrough.
SK Telecomm and KT were also candidates for the awards, especially in Outstanding LTE Contribution category.
PETA solution, an LTE network technology, and the world’s first commercialized HD Voice service by SK Telecomm were nominated in the Outstanding LTE Contribution category. SK Planet’s Smart Wallet was selected as a candidate for Best NFC/Mobile Money Product or Service.
KT’s LTE Warp service and Olleh School were nominated to Outstanding LTE Contribution and Best Mobile Education Service categories, respectively.
The Global Mobile Award ceremony is to be held in Barcelona, Spain on coming 26th (local time), during Mobile World Congress 2013.
삼성, MWC서 '7관왕' 기록 세울까
삼성전자가 모바일월드콩그레스(MWC) 휴대폰상 7개 부분 후보에 올랐다.
삼성전자는 △최고 스마트폰 △최고 피처폰 △최고 스마트패드 △최고 모바일 소비자가전 △최고 모바일 광고·마케팅 △최고 모바일 기반시설 △최고 모바일 기술진보 등 7개 부분 후보로 선정됐다.
후보 제품은 갤럭시노트2, 갤럭시S3, 갤럭시노트 10.1, 갤럭시 카메라, 갤럭시 듀오스와 롱텀에벌루션(LTE) 장비, 제일기획의 삼성전자 광고다.
갤럭시노트2와 갤럭시S3는 나란히 최고 스마트폰 분야 후보로 선정돼 애플 아이폰5, HTC 드로이드DNA, 노키아 루미아920과 경쟁한다.
갤럭시노트10.1은 아마존 킨들 파이어HD 8.9, 애플 4세대 아이패드·아이패드 미니, 에이수스 트랜스포머 인피니티, 구글 넥서스7과 최고 스마트패드 분야에서 겨룬다.
SK텔레콤과 KT도 후보작을 냈다. 특히 `최고의 LTE 공헌상`을 놓고 양사가 경쟁도 펼친다.
SK텔레콤은 LTE 네트워크 기술인 페타(PETA) 솔루션과 세계 최초 상용화에 성공한 HD보이스가 최고의 LTE 공헌상 후보에 올랐다. 스마트월렛은 `최고의 NFC/모바일 머니 서비스` 분야에 후보로 선정됐다.
KT는 LTE 워프가 최고의 LTE 공헌상 후보에, `올레 스쿨` 앱이 `최고의 모바일 교육 서비스상` 후보에 각각 올랐다.
글로벌 모바일 어워드 시상식은 오는 26일(현지시간) `모바일월드콩그레스 2013`가 열리는 스페인 바르셀로나에서 개최될 예정이다.
