SEOUL, KOREA - AVERD, the maker of energy-efficient lights, announced on the 5th that it introduced Sunt, a long-life Light-Emitting Diode (LED) lamp.
AVERD was able to extend the life hours of the new LED lamp up to 40,000 hours by adopting a radiator socket and an external converter which improve the heat-radiation capacity and reduce the heat deterioration of lamp. When the temperature of LED lamp rises by 10 Celsius degrees, the life hours of electrolytic condenser, a main part of LED lamp, is reduced by a half. To make this improvement possible, the company employed ‘Remote Phosphor’ processing that layers phosphor onto a substrate separated from the LED chip to achieve higher heat radiation performance.
CEO of AVERD, Mr. Shi Youl Noh, commented, “many LED lamps have poor heat radiation capacity – this usually makes their luminance drop by more than 40% and their color to change within one year of use. Our new product makes up for such shortcomings by applying the new technique.” Sunt maintains 80lm/W luminance efficiency at 82 and above Color Rendering Index (CRI).

조명 전문업체 애버드(대표 노시열)는 고수명 발광다이오드(LED) 조명 `선트(Sunt)`를 출시했다고 5일 밝혔다.
애버드는 방열 기능을 강화해 선트의 수명을 4만 시간까지 늘렸다. 자체 개발한 방열소켓을 적용했으며, 외장형 컨버터를 채택해 온도 상승에 의한 수명 저하를 예방했다. 컨버터 부품인 전해콘덴서는 온도가 10도 오르면 수명이 절반으로 줄어든다. 형광체를 LED 칩에 도포하지 않고 공간을 두고 씌워 방열 기능을 높이는 `리모트 포스포` 방식을 적용했다.
노시열 사장은 “상당수의 LED 조명은 방열 기능이 미흡해 보통 사용 1년 만에 밝기가 40% 이상 떨어지고 색이 변하는 단점이 있다”며 “이 같은 단점을 보완한 신개념 제품”이라고 말했다.
선트는 연색성 지수(CRI) 82 이상에서 광효율 80㏐/W를 유지한다. CRI는 자연의 빛에 가까운 정도를 나타내는 지표로, 자연광의 CRI가 100이다. 애버드는 선트를 소형으로 제작해 다양한 조명기구에 쉽게 조합할 수 있다고 설명했다. 이번 출시한 6W, 9W, 12W 제품에 이어 향후 24W, 48W 조명도 선보인다는 계획이다. 노 사장은 “지난해 시제품으로 우리나라와 동남아에서 약 2만개 정도 판매했다”며 “올해 유럽, 미국 등지로 시장 영역을 넓혀 나갈 것”이라고 말했다.
