Seoul, Korea - LG Electronics announced on the sixth that it launched Z160 series high performance tab books with the 3rd generation processors, i3 and i5. In addition to H160, the same tab book with ATOM dual core processor launched in October last year, the launch of two additional models with more powerful processors provides the users with a greater range of choice.
LG's tab books have touch screen laid on top of the keyboard panel, and the touch screen slides open to expose the keyboard by a touch of latch buttons on each sides of keyboard panel. Z160 weighs 1.25 kilograms and is 19.4 millimeters thin. Lithium polymer battery with up to 6.4 hours of battery time powers the new models, and the tab book comes with a power supply that weighs only 180 grams.
Z160 comes with the In-Plane Switching display panel by LG, providing bright, clear view and colors from almost any angle. The designer of this tab book was thoughtful enough to equip the PC with standard USB and HDMI ports for easy connection. Micro SD card slot allows the users to add more storage space.

LG전자가 3세대 프로세서 코어 i5와 i3를 탑재한 고성능 탭북 Z160 시리즈를 출시했다고 6일 밝혔다. 회사는 지난해 10월 아톰 듀얼코어 프로세서를 장착한 H160 출시에 이어 코어 i5, i3를 탑재한 제품출시로 다양한 성능의 탭북 라인업을 갖췄다.
탭북 Z160은 스마트패드과 울트라북을 하나의 제품으로 구현한 H160의 이동성과 편의성에 성능까지 더한 제품이다. 평소 터치화면을 활용해 스마트패드처럼 사용하다 문서작성 시 측면 `오토슬라이딩(Auto-Sliding)` 버튼으로 키보드를 노출, 노트북과 같이 타이핑 할 수 있다. `스마트 터치펜`을 이용하면 보다 정교한 그래픽 작업 등도 할 수 있다.
탭북 Z160은 1.25㎏의 가벼운 무게와 19.4㎜의 얇은 두께를 구현했다. 외부 장시간 사용을 감안해 최대 6.4시간 사용이 가능한 리튬 폴리머 배터리를 채택했다. 충전 시 필요한 어댑터도 180g으로 초경량이다.
제품은 LG만의 IPS(In-Plane Switching) 디스플레이를 장착했다. 어느 각도에서나 밝고 선명한 색감을 구현한다. 주변기기와 호환성도 뛰어나다. 표준 USB, 표준 HDMI 포트를 갖춰 별도의 연결장치(젠더)가 필요 없다. 마이크로SD카드 슬롯으로 저장 장치도 추가 확장할 수 있다.
권일근 LG전자 IT사업부장 전무는 “이동성과 편의성을 만족시킨 H160에 이어 성능까지 높인 Z160 출시로 소비자 선택의 폭을 넓혔다”며 “다양한 제품으로 컨버터블 PC시장을 선도할 것”이라고 말했다.
