Seoul, Korea - SK Broadband announced on the 7th that it developed and implemented a system that will automatically block the DDoS attack to strengthen the protection of its network equipment and internet service to customers.
This system blocks the DDoS attack from the external network aimed at the company’s backbone network and automatically detects and contains the DDoS attack occurred within an internal network. The system also identifies the zombie PCs that trigger DDoS attacks and their remote control servers and deters their activities.
Once this system identifies the customers’ PCs to be zombie PCs, SK Broadband will visit its customers to inspect their PCs, with their consent, to root out the further DDoS attack attempts and other relative causes of the attack, such as personal information leakage and account piracy.

SK브로드밴드(대표 안승윤)는 최근 급격히 증가하는 디도스(DDos) 공격을 자동차단하는 시스템을 개발해 도입함으로써 네트워크 장비와 고객 인터넷서비스 보호를 강화한다고 7일 밝혔다.
이 시스템은 외부 망으로부터 침입해 백본을 경유하는 디도스 공격을 막고, 내부 망에서 발생하는 디도스 공격을 자동 탐지해 차단한다. 디도스 공격을 유발하는 좀비PC와 이를 조종하는 원격제어 서버(C&C)도 찾아내 활동을 막는다.
SK브로드밴드는 이 시스템을 통해 고객 PC가 좀비PC로 감염된 것을 확인하면, 고객 동의를 얻어 방문 점검해 디도스 공격차단은 물론이고 개인정보유출, 계정탈취 등 사용자 피해 발생 원인을 근본적으로 제거할 방침이다.
윤무식 SK브로드밴드 네트워크부문장은 “이번 기술 개발로 외부 망으로부터 공격뿐만 아니라 망 내부에서 발생하는 이상 트래픽 자동대응 체계를 선제적으로 강화했다”며 “인터넷망의 안정성을 획기적으로 개선하고, 찾아가는 서비스의 일환으로 좀비PC로 확인된 고객을 방문해 예방 점검함으로써 고객 서비스 만족도를 향상시키는 계기가 될 것”이라고 말했다.
