SEOUL, KOREA – Philips is poised to prop up its flagship businesses including healthcare by manufacturing products that mirror Korean consumers’ ideas.

In a meeting with reporters in Seoul on February 13, Philips said it would proactively tap Korean consumers’ ideas in planning on its corporate activities and product development by launching the '+' Project, Philips’s global campaign that combines Philips’ health & wellbeing products and the development of services with social contribution projects in a bid to improve the quality of life through innovative technologies and preemptively shed light on social issues.

Korea has become the fourth nation to carry out the '+' Project after Indonesia, Thailand and Singapore. The one-month-long '+' Project that started in January, 2013 received nearly 6,000 ideas, which will be narrowed down to 12 finalists through professional evaluations. A three-week online voting will begin on February 18 to cream off the 12 finalists. The final winner will be given a chance to work with Philips to develop his or her idea into an actual product or service.

With the '+' Project, Philips is looking forward to the reinforcement of both its community relationships and healthcare business.
