SEOUL, KOREA – The quality of Samsung and LG TVs turned out to be good overall from low-end to high-end products. LG Electronics’ TVs excelled in video quality and user friendliness while Samsung Electronics’ products flaunted good sound quality.
On Thursday, Korea Consumer Agency (KCA) released the results of its survey that delved into a total of 11 TVs - six 3D smart TVs in the 40-inch LED TV category and five digital TVs.
The KCA tested and evaluated the 11 TVs in terms of video quality, sound quality, user friendliness, power consumption and additional functions.
Three high-end smart TVs (worth over KRW 2 million), manufactured by Samsung, LG and Sony, were compared. The Samsung and LG TVs were rated high in both video quality and user friendliness. The Sony TV was outshined by the Samsung and LG TVs in video quality, but its sound quality was rated highly.
In the general digital TV category, worth less than KRW one million, TVs did not differ much in quality among different TV brands.
