SEOUL, KOREA – Leveraging the ongoing projects for the sophistication of software convergence technologies which is being carried out in the form of preliminary feasibility study projects, software companies located in Daegu are busy making R&D-based entry into new businesses.
Despite slowdowns in the local economy, software companies in Daegu saw their sales climb over, on average, 20%. These software companies aim to create synergy by sustaining such upward momentum through new R&D projects.
12 software developers including SejoongIS and Mobilab are currently pondering over R&D projects such as mobile platforms, remote production management systems, smart learning and environmental prediction systems.
Growth in 2012 sales has also prodded these software companies into making R&D-based business expansion.
According to a recent survey conducted by Daegu Digital Industry Promotion Agency (DIP), even though the number of software companies operating in Daegu ICT Park dropped a bumper 25% from 98 in 2011 to 74 in 2012, the average sales per company went up.
