SEOUL, KOREA - Korea Battery Industry Association (Park Sang-jin, the Chairman) is beefing up the vitalization of the secondary cell industry by creating new markets related with electric car and ESS (Energy Storage System).
In order to generate demand for the secondary battery, the Association announced on Feb. 18 that it would come up with an eco-friendly car supply road map and submit it to the government. The road map would stipulate that large-scale discount stores should establish a battery-charging infrastructure for electric cars.
It also plans to encourage various organizations to purchase electric vehicles by supporting a pilot project for movable emergent battery-charging infrastructure and by testing and certifying replaceable batteries for electric buses. When large-sized discount stores are obliged to establish battery-charging infrastructures on their own premises, it is believed that the electric car market would be vitalized.
“Is is expected that foreign eco-friendly cars with better technology would be released to the local market thanks to FTA and new renewable energy development businesses would get busy due to severe electric power shortage. The Association will do all it could to activate the electric car and ESS market by inducing the supply of electric cars,” said the Chairman.
전지산업협회, ESS·전기차 민간시장 이끌겠다
한국전지산업협회(회장 박상진)가 올해 전기자동차·ESS(에너지저장장치) 민간 시장 창출을 통한 2차전지 산업 활성화에 힘을 보탠다.
전지산업협회는 2차전지 수요창출을 위해 대형 할인점 등 유통시장의 전기차 충전인프라 구축의무화 등을 담은 친환경차 보급 로드맵을 수립해 정부에 제안한다고 18일 밝혔다.
이동형 비상 충전인프라 시범사업과 교체형 전기버스 배터리 시험인증 지원을 포함해 협·단체의 전기차 구매 독려에도 나설 계획이다. 충전인프라 구축 의무화로 전기차 잠재수요의 구매 갈등 요소를 극복해 전기차 시장 활성화를 이끌겠다는 전략이다. 여기에 이동형 비상충전 인프라를 통한 차량 운행 중 방전우려를 불식시키고 교체식 전기버스용 배터리 시험인증체계도 정부에 제안할 방침이다.
ESS 민간 시장 활성화에도 적극 나선다. ESS 시험·인증 인프라 구축을 추진하며 지식경제부·기술표준원과 함께 전력 계통연계 등 관련 분야의 국내외 표준화 추진 동향을 분석하고 중장기 전략을 추진 중이다. 기표원, 표준협회 등과 국제표준 제정을 위한 연구용역과 표준과제를 주도하고 전자부품연구원·화학융합연구원·전기연구원·에너지기술연구원 등과 시험·인증 제도를 마련한다.
박상진 회장은 “FTA 시장 개방으로 기술력이 앞선 외국산 친환경 전기차가 들어오고 갈수록 심각해지는 전력난으로 신재생에너지 개발사업도 활발해 질 것”이라며 “협회는 전기차 보급 등을 선도하면서 전기차·ESS 민간 시장 활성화에 적극 나설 것”이라고 말했다.
