SEOUL, KOREA – Alcatel-Lucent has set out to distance itself from Jeong-hun Kim, former President of Alcatel-Lucent's Bell Labs and Corporate Strategy, after he was named as Minister for the Future Creation and Science Ministry. The nomination of Jeong-hun Kim to the ministerial position has seemed to make Alcatel-Lucent Korea’s moves more cautious. Besides, Alcatel-Lucent Korea feels somewhat uneasy about continued rallies in its Korean partners' stocks after their shares were classified as the so-called Jeong-hun Kim theme stocks.
Since Korean-American entrepreneur Jeong-hun Kim was tapped as the Minister for the Future Creation and Science Ministry, Alcatel-Lucent’s partners including SI companies and parts suppliers have witnessed their stocks continue their winning streak.
However, Alcatel-Lucent Korea is wary of its Korean partenrs' stock bullishness fueled by Jeong-hun Kim. On Monday, Alcatel-Lucent issued a prelease release to officially confirm Jeong-hun Kim’s resignation. Feeling burdened by the current market moves to associate Alcatel-Lucent Korea closely with the nomination of Jeong-hun Kim to the ministerial position, an official from Alcatel-Lucent Korea mentioned, “It is inappropriate to make a company-wide response since he already resigned his position.”
