Will Emergency Exits from Cars Be Possible

In action movies we can often see movie stars successfully escaping by emergency exit from cars that have accidentally been overturned or sunk in the water. In some cases, a main character is forcibly put into the car trunk by scoundrels, but he manages to get out of the trunk and run away safely. Will it be possible in the real world
According to the Korea Intellectual Property Office (KIPO) report during the last decade from 1996 to 2005 the number of patent applications and utility models for an emergency exit of a car stands at 263 cases. The applications for emergency exits can be divided into two categories. The first one is to escape from the inside of the car at the time of car accident, and the other is to get out of the trunk in an effort to protect a person against criminal activity. The emergency exit device for the former is 211 cases, accounting for 80.2% of the total applicants, and the latter is 52 cases, 19.8%.
Since 2001, the patent application has steadily increased by 14 cases per year on the average. With regard to safety and protection against a car accident and a car crime, the people's concern continues to grow. Therefore, emergency exit devices are expected to be a necessary part of cars.
