SEOUL, KOREA – Samsung Electronics said Wednesday its 2013 smart TV model “F8000” series was highly rated by Germany’s major audio/video magazines. The F8090, a European version of the F8000, received the highest rating “Referenz” from Video and the highest honor “Highlight” from Heimkino. Video said that the F8090 is a great improvement on its predecessors in terms of image quality, functions and contents. Praising the Samsung Smart TV’s superb video quality and convenient user interface, Video said Samsung products outsmart its rivals by paying attention to even trifles. Heimkino underscored the Samsung Smart TV’s S-Recommendation feature, saying that Samsung Smart TV is smart enough to find out what the viewer wants to watch at a specific time.
Samsung Electronics expects that great reviews from such influential magazines would help soup up sales of Samsung Smart TVs in the European market.

삼성전자는 2013년형 스마트TV `F8000` 시리즈가 독일 전문지로부터 호평을 받았다고 1일 밝혔다. F8000 유럽형 모델인 `F8090`은 독일 유력 오디오•비디오(AV) 평가 매체인 비데오(video)와 하임키노(Heimkino)로부터 각각 최고등급인 `레퍼런스(Referenz)` `하이라이트(Highlight)` 평가를 받았다. 비데오는 화질과 기능•콘텐츠 3요소 모두 지난해 모델보다 대폭 향상됐다는 평가를 내렸다. 선명한 화질과 사용자 인터페이스도 높이 평가하며 삼성전자 제품은 사소한 부분도 간과하지 않아 경쟁사보다 한발 앞선다고 분석했다. 하임키노는 삼성전자 스마트 TV의 `스마트 추천(S-Recommendation)` 기능을 강조하며 `특정 시간에 시청자가 보고 싶어 하는 프로그램을 알아내는 놀라운 제품`이라고 평했다.
삼성전자는 이 같은 높은 평가가 유럽 시장에서 스마트 TV 판매를 촉진하는 계기가 될 것으로 기대했다. 이효건 삼성전자 영상디스플레이사업부 개발실장(전무)은 “현지에서 인정한 우월한 화질과 기능, 콘텐츠를 바탕으로 유럽 지역 프리미엄 스마트TV 판매에 박차를 가하겠다”고 말했다.
