IITPA IT Korea's Flag in East Europe Under the support of the Ministry of Information and Communication (MIC), Incheon IT Industry Promotion Agency (IITPA, www.iitpa.or.kr) and the Center for Digital Industry Promotion of Daegu (DIP, www.dip.or.kr) held its East Europe IT export consultation meeting in Prague, Czech Republic and Budapest, Hungary on October 17 and 19 with 11 selected IT companies in Incheon and Daegu. At this IT export consultation meeting the two agencies gained export consultation outcomes amounting to US$9.38 million through a total of 106 business talks while approximately 200 influential buyers in the Czech Republic and Hungary were on hand. Through this, the two agencies are assessed to show off Korea IT enterprise's technology power and to prepare a stepping stone for pioneering East Europe IT market. Woo Young Systems gained local contracts amounting to US$110,000 as well as a consultation result of US$980,000, agreeing to supply Budapest Gorza Leno and Hungary Ministry of National Defense with electronic blackboards. Korea's Digital Electronics Corporation also agreed to provide Hungary Global Focus with electronic measuring instruments to a total of US$1.20 million. It also agreed further to discuss with Prague's RS SERVIS regarding export prices as well as more detail conditions of a total of US$2.07 million scale. Moreover, Pavanine (www.pavanine.co.kr) gained business talk outcomes of US$1.48 million as the company agreed to sell 3D monitors and solutions worth US$300,000 respectively to Hungary Lasalo Molner and Czech FV CAMP. Also, Namjootech (www.namjootech.co.kr) and Daegu's Innonet (www.innonet.net) gained business regarding goods supply of US$1.29 million and US$900,000 respectively. CEO Eugene Jun, IITPA, said: "The two agencies have been doing a finely worked-out advance preparation by surveying buyers in Prague and Budapest in advance to support participating companies' marketing." He expected that with this business meeting the two agencies can truly capture the Eastern European IT market. IITPA, on one hand, entered an MOU with the Hungary IT Association to support domestic IT companies' continuous local market inroads in the rapidly growing Eastern European market, thereby agreeing to cooperate closely with the Association so that Incheon and Daegu corporations' inroads and exchanges can increase.
