SEOUL, KOREA - Samsung Electronics plans to launch an online sound source service in Korea from next month. The users of upcoming Samsung smartphones, including Galaxy S4 smartphone, will be able to use this service.

Samsung's entry into the online sound source market will likely to bring about a change in the Korean sound source service market that has been dominated by SK Planet's Melon, NHN's Naver Music, and Neowiz Internet's Bugs.

Samsung Electronics announced on May 8 that it plans to launch an online sound source sales service "Samsung Music" at its contents store Samsung Hub. This service is scheduled to begin on the first day of next month.

As part of its preparations to launch into the online sound source market, Samsung Electronics acquired a music/video streaming service provider Mspot last year.

The launch of Samsung Music service will bring the total number of services offered by Samsung Hub up to five, including Samsung Video, Samsung Books, Samsung Game, and Samsung Learning.
