SEOUL, KOREA - The overall exports of the local IT sectors reached USD 14.13 billion last month, up 17.5% from the same month of last year, posting a record high compared with the showings made for the same month of each year.
The IT imports went up by 7.3% or to USD 6.77 billion. April saw the IT trade surplus of USD 7.35 billion.
Mobile phones and memory semiconductors led the IT exports, and the exports of other main IT-related products including display panels, digital TVs, computers and others picked up as well.
The exports of mobile phones and memory semiconductors grew by 50.4% and 34.6% respectively. The export of mobile phones stood at USD 2.19 billion. And to the export result, Smartphone contributed some USD 1.1 billion. Thanks to the increasing demand for mobile memory semiconductors, the sector of memory semiconductor reached USD 2.07 billion in the export. Meanwhile, the export of system semiconductors went down by 33% or to USD 1.67 billion due to the sluggish export of mobile application processors.
The export of display panels increased for ten consecutive months, logging USD 2.64 billion. Thanks to the popularity of Smart TVs, the export of TVs increased to USD 570 million or by 4.9% compared with the previous year.
The Ministry of Future, Creation and Science is expecting the IT export competitiveness to continue to grow as new strategic Smartphones, OLED TVs and other high value-added products have been successfullylaunched.
4월 IT 수출 141억 3000만 달러 ··· 4월 기준 최대치
지난달 우리나라 정보기술(IT) 분야 수출이 지난해 같은 달보다 17.5% 증가한 141억3000만달러를 기록했다. 4월 기준으로 역대 최대 규모다.
IT 수입은 지난해보다 7.3% 증가한 67억7000만달러, 4월 IT 무역수지는 73억5000만달러 흑자로 잠정 집계됐다.
미래창조과학부가 발표한 `4월 IT 수출입 동향`에 따르면 4월 누적 기준 IT 수출(528억3000만달러), 수지 흑자(268억2000만달러) 모두 역대 최대치다.
휴대폰과 메모리 반도체가 IT 수출을 견인한 가운데 디스플레이 패널, 디지털 TV, 컴퓨터 등 주요 품목 수출도 호조를 기록했다.
휴대폰과 메모리반도체 수출은 각각 50.4%, 34.6% 증가했다. 휴대폰 수출은 21억9000만달러로, 이 가운데 스마트폰 수출이 11억달러를 차지했다. 메모리 반도체는 모바일 메모리 반도체 수요가 증가하고 단가가 올라 20억7000만달러 수출을 기록했다. 반면 시스템반도체는 모바일AP 수출 둔화 탓에 3.3% 감소한 16억7000만달러로 집계됐다.
디스플레이 패널 수출은 10개월 연속 증가한 26억4000만달러를 달성했다. 스마트TV 인기로 TV 수출은 5억7000만달러 규모로 전년보다 4.9% 증가했다.
미래부는 신규 전략 스마트폰과 OLED TV 등 고부가가치 제품의 성공적 출시와 맞물려 수출 경쟁력이 지속적으로 강화될 것으로 전망했다. 하지만 엔저 현상과 미국 달러 약세는 수출에 부정적 요인으로 작용할 가능성이 있다고 덧붙였다.
