SEOUL, KOREA - Kia Motors said on May 12 it would expand its dealer networks in China to 670 from current 564 while strengthening sales efficiency. The company set this year's slogan as the "year of customer satisfaction" and decided to seek to become No. 1 in customer service.
Kia Motors plans to sell 740,000 cars in China next year in 2014 after the record 480,566 cars sold last year. To that end, it will establish a young and dynamic brand identity with new car lineups centering on the K series models.
Most new dealerships will be located in cities with high economic growth rates, while sprucing up existing stores to attract more customers there. Separately, the company has already begun training workers to be assigned in the newly opened No. 3 plant in its Nos. 1 and 2 plants in China and other assembly plants in Korea to minimize quality problems that may arise in the initial stage of the operations.
