Currently 10,170 pyeong (33,561 square meters) is the largest scale for a single PDP manufacturing factory. The new P4 line plant will be 40,000 pyeong (132,000 square meters). Samsung SDI plans to produce 216,000 sheets PDP maximum annually with the P4 line, an exclusive manufacturing factory of 50inch HD and Full HD PDP. "By applying cutting-edge manufacturing process to 4 line, Samsung SDI will differentiate it from other competitors with premium line that maximizes the cost competitiveness," said Samsung SDI CEO Kim Soon-taek. Including the P4 line's output with the output of the P1 to P3 lines in its existing Chunan factory, Samsung SDI is equipped with a PDP production capability of approximately 7,320,000 sheets at a 42inch base. The company will be able to cope with rapidly increasing PDP demand. Its P4 line which is being built with the goal of mass production in May 2007 has completed about 70% of its entire progress as of November 1. Provided this P4 line is completed, Samsung SDI Busan factory will be transformed into the most state-of-the-art digital display hub complex in the world. CEO Kim stressed: "Let's make every effort by actualizing high-quality and premium line so that Samsung SDI can recapture world No.1 rank."
