SEOUL, KOREA - ESTsoft announced that it posted sales of 9.69 billion won and an operating profit of 320 million won for the first quarter of this year on a K-IFRS consolidated basis. Year-on-year, sales grew by 21.6 percent. ESTsoft swung back into profits in a turnaround from a temporary loss a year ago.
Key factors behind its turnaround include the fact portal business zum.com started yielding profits after a year of R&D investments through its subsidiary Zum Internet.
ESTsoft explained that Zum Internet has focused on stabilizing the zum.com services and improving user convenience over the past one year. Based on these efforts, zum.com achieved a remarkable growth of 888.1 percent in sales in the first quarter of this year, reaching its break-even point line.
In addition, its software business maintained a stable earnings ratio despite a prolonged market slump. Even in the game category, ESTsoft marked a positive growth in domestic sales thanks to its ongoing updates and stable management.
