SEOUL, KOREA - Namyang Dairy Products Co., which has been in the midst of controversy over unfair sales practices, turned out to have the highest ratio of non-regular workers among Korean food companies.
According to a survey conducted by Chaebol.com with 23 food companies with annual sales of over 200 billion won, the share of non-regular workers at Namyang stood at 31.6 percent. Of its 2,731 employees, 1,868 are regular workers and 863 non-regulars.
Following Namyang were Maeil Dairy with 18 percent and Lotte Chilsung Beverage with 16.9 percent.
Namyang is also shamed with the lowest annual salaries among major food companies. Ottogi has the lowest annual salaries that averaged at 27.82 million won, followed by Namyang's 28.28 million won.
