SEOUL, KOREA - The Hyundai Motor plant in the Czech Republic has broken the 1-million milestone in cumulative output since its first car on the assembly line in 2008. The company held on May 16 an event to celebrate the 1-million-unit cumulative production at its Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Czech plant in Nosovice, a village in the far east region of the country.
The event was attended by HMMC president Kim Joon-ha, Hyundai Motor Europe head Lim Byung-kwon, and dignitaries from the central and local government.
In July 2006, Hyundai Motor built the Nosovice plant with an investment of 1.2 trillion won as part of establishing a continent-wide production network. The 280,000-square-meter plant is equipped with stamping, welding, painting, assembly, and transmission shops, as well as parts and logistic warehouses, inspection center, and other amenities.
