SEOUL, KOREA - LG U+ released the U+ Biz iLS (Intelligent Lighting Solution) that allows users to control building lightings on a remote basis. The solution is expected to contribute to reducing the lighting-related electric consumption by up to 60 percent.
U+ Biz iLS consists of an LED lighting, a smart meter, a lighting power controller, and an integrated control system. LED lighting features higher intensity of illumination and lower usage of electricity compared to existing fluorescent lights and incandescent lights. The LED lights also boast longer lifespan, thereby enabling users to save electric bills and maintenance cost.
The smart meter checks on a real-time basis the power status of LED lighting installed on offices, passages, or outdoors, and send the information to the integrated control system. The lighting power controller allows users to set the brightness of lighting differently depending on place, time, and environment.
An LG U+ official said, "An apartment-type factory that recently introduced the iLS solution for its underground parking lot saved the lighting electricity cost by up to 60 percent. Given that electric consumption has increased by about 14 percent over the past four years, the new solution would make a great contribution to reducing electricity cost for businesses."
