SEOUL, KOREA - Samsung Electronics saw its smartphone sales in China pass the 10-million mark in the first quarter of this year. The company maintained the No. 1 spot in terms of smartphone sales in China for five consecutive quarters.
A U.S. market research firm Strategy Analytics released its analysis on smartphone sales trend in China for the first quarter of this year. Samsung Electronics sold 12.5 million smartphones in China for the quarter, with a market share of 18.5 percent, ranking No. 1 among major smartphone makers.
This is the first time for Samsung Electronics to exceed the 10-million level in quarterly smartphone sales in China. Compared to a quarter ago, Samsung Electronics' first-quarter share increased by 2.2 percentage points.
