Forum G3G Evolution Forum Korea to be well represented by KTF , Irdeto Korea The Global 3G Evolution Forum will be held in Tokyo, Japan, starting January 22 of next year. This will be the sixth forum held on the subject of 3G services from the view of mobile operators. Attendees will be able to focus on what services will provide the most value to their customers and technical issues that need to be addressed to ensure the continuation of 3G and upcoming 4G strategies. The agenda for the 2007 Forum will merge the technological and business trends of 3, 3.5, and 4G mobile networks. It will attempt to create a space for knowledge transfer between businesses, communities, and individual users. It will also attempt to bring together the gap between advanced countries like Korea and emerging nations in the mobile technology network. G3G Forum will be an exceptional meeting platform offering unique networking and business opportunities and providing the audience with innovative and reliable strategies to gain a competitive edge in the intensely turbulent 3G mobile market. Speakers abound There will be many speakers at the Forum. The guest of honor speaker will be Keiji Tachikawa, president of the Japanese Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA). He will speak about his work at CEO of NTT DoCoMo and will describe the actions which helped the development, unification and implementation of telecommunications standards worldwide. He will also speak about his role as president of JAXA and how his transition from the telecommunications world to aerospace has helped him to push further into the development of communications technologies. Also of note, Dr. Kim Yeon-hak, executive vice president of KTF, will speak about the challenges of service adoption in a rapidly changing consumer market. He will speak of how to maintain strong 3G leadership in the South Korean market and the position of KTF on upcoming next generation services. Finally, Dr. Kim will speak about the ways to create communities involved in 3G technologies by delivering extremely personalized and sophisticated services to consumers. Tomi Ahonen, 3G consultant and author of the book Digital Korea, will also hold a session titled "Evolution of the Utility of the 3G handset: Moving Beyond Just Communication." The author will talk about the differences between communication, consumption, and creation in the digital age, and their growing similarities. Commerce will also be covered, in the guise of adding payments and advertising to the equation. A representative from Irdeto Korea, a company with regional offices in South Korea, will speak on maximizing content revenue with scalable and profitable digital solutions. The company is a specialist in content security, and provides comprehensive solutions for digital content protection in many different environments. The company works with an impressive list of leading industry partners to create end-to-end solutions for any pay-media business. Irdeto's goal is to help operators increase content revenue by offering best-of-class security solutions. The forum will be held at The New Otani Makahuri Hotel, an international resort hotel located in Makuhari city, known for its international convention center The Makuhari Messe. It is thirty minutes by car from Narita International Airport and 15 minutes by train from Tokyo Disney Resort. The hotel features sports and relaxation facilities in addition to the functionality of urban hotels. This downtown hotel complex is less than four kilometers (two miles) from the Ginza shopping district, and Imperial Place. Located in two buildings, the 1,600 guestrooms offer high-speed Internet access and complimentary daily newspapers. Some have views of the city or Japanese gardens. The New Otani complex spans three connected buildings which include a conference center, shopping plaza, and 10-acre Japanese garden.
