SEOUL, KOREA - LS Industrial Systems announced on May 30 that it received a solar power plant order worth 40 billion from Japan Renewable Energy. The project calls for building a 40-megawatt solar power plant in Mito, northeast of Tokyo. A day ago, a ground-breaking ceremony was held there.
JRE is a specialist in energy development and operations established by a U.S. investment bank Goldman Sachs to launch into Japan's renewable energy market. JRE aims to boost its power capacity up to 1,000 MW over the next five years.
Under terms of the project, LS Industrial Systems will provide 40 billion won worth of facilities and solutions, including solar modules, RMUs, and transformers. In addition to the latest order, the company expects to win follow-up orders of JRE's solar power projects that are estimated at more than 3 trillion won by 2018.
