The Korea IT Industry Promotion Agency (KIPA) has set up a test bed for content development for communication and broadcasting convergence for the purpose of providing an environment appropriate for the development and test of bi-directional data broadcasting contents, and has held an opening ceremony on December 14. This test bed is composed of 12 kinds of set top boxes, a large-scale display, a transmission system for data broadcasting and digital broadcasting, and data broadcasting contents production tool.

Accordingly, the companies that try to develop data broadcasting contents and test them will be able to use this test bed. KIPA president Yu Young-min said: "In order to increase the utilization rate of a new media and activate its market, the first thing to do is develop the digital content. For this reason, we have set up the test bed to help developers get over their difficulties."
