SEOUL, KOREA - LG Electronics showed off 12 kinds of brand-new microwave ovens that have been designed by Karim Rashid.
Karim Rashid, one of the world's three most famous industrial designers, has the experience of participating in the design of LG Kimchi refrigerator and stylers. This is the first time for Karim Rashid to join in the design of microwave oven.
An LG official said, "We upgraded the design of microwave ovens by employing Karim Rashid's pattern design and diamond patterns." The microwave ovens realized a simple and elegant design with a grip hidden at the bottom of the door.
The brand-new models strengthened an automatic cooking feature particularly for frozen foods. Taking into account of the recent trend that the frozen food consumption increases with a rise in the number of single-person households and double-income families, LG Electronics has added a new feature of "rice cake" and "soup" cooking into existing menus.
The hygienic feature of the microwave ovens is also improved thanks to the employment of charcoal coating for the interior part.
