Talking strategies for spreading 3G technologies
The 3G Mobile World Forum has been exploring 3G services from an industry operator viewpoint for the past five years. While the event has recently been renamed to the Global 3G Evolution Forum, the purpose remains the same -- identifying what services will provide the most value to customers and what technical issues need to be considered in order to increase the viability of the 3G and 4G market strategies.
The 2007 conference, which will be held for three days from January 22, will present a different theme on each of those days. The first day's theme will be "Defining Winning Strategies and Creating Leadership Ideas." The second day's topic will be "Striving for Speed." And the third day will include presentations on "Empowering High Growth Regions and Emerging Countries."
Defining winning strategies In more detail, the first day will attempt to define many different strategies for increasing service support for 3G technologies.
The first talk on the first day will be on the topics of global footprint and service diffusion for 3G technologies. The presentation will focus first on evaluating the return on investment in the 3G license, with of course a focus on the best operational procedures to use in order to enhance mobile capabilities.
The first day will move on to a theme of 3, 3.5, and 4G market geometrics. Those involved will discuss results-driven strategies in the mobile marketplace, evolutionary 3G products and services, and the segmentation methodologies involved in using those to best advantage in the ruthless market.
Other topics covered on the first day will be key issues in regulatory and compliance updates, discussions on the changes brought about by revolutionary technologies, and the pressure of matching low-cost pricing models with first-class services offerings.
Striving for speed
The Forum will kick off the second day with a presentation on technology and services implementation. The question of who creates the trends in the long-term evolution of 3G will be answered, as well as discussion about what exactly those trends are.
Continuing in the same vein, the second day will also include a meeting of the minds concerning convergence. Network utilization strategies that are best used to create a network of converged operators will be discussed, along with WiMAX and WiBro.
Day two will also hold the G3G Think Tank in three
simultaneously streamed sessions, which attendees can choose between at their convenience. Session A will cover global trends in multimedia value added services that utilize 3G technologies. Session B will cover converged solutions that increase mobility and 3G quality of service. Session C will cover practical planning strategies for profitable mobile device and terminal management strategies.
Empowering emerging countries
The third day will begin with an indepth look at the geographical business borders of the 3G market, and whether or not they still apply. Speakers will focus on China's efforts to implement their network utilization planning strategy in time for the 2008 Olympics in Beijing.
Russia will speak about its stance on 3G licensing, while representatives from India will speak about making 3G networks as wide as possible. Many other representatives from every geopolitical area of the world will speak about their unique 3G challenges in their sectors.
The third day will end with three more streamed sessions. Session D will compare and contrast SGM, CDMA and WiMAX. Streamed Session E will involve methodologies for delivering mobile content across various geographical and technological areas. Session F will illustrate the links between efficient product management and effective business partnerships and how that effects 3G business performance.
