SEOUL, KOREA - Samsung Techwin succeeded in winning a string of new orders. The company made it public on May 31 that it signed a deal worth 605.1 billion won with GE of the United States to supply LPT modules that will be used in GE's gas turbine engines (LM2500).
Starting from next year, the deal would create earnings of 120 billion won per year until 2018. The value of this deal is equivalent to 21 percent of Samsung Techwin's 2012 sales and 70 percent of its power system division sales. Samsung Techwin has supplied LPT modules to GE since 2004.
The latest deal would more than triple Samsung Techwin's overall supply of LPT modules to GE.
More recently, Samsung Techwin also inked a deal with the Korean Defense Acquisition Program Administration to supply 245.5 billion won worth of FA-50 engines. The value of this deal is equivalent to 8.37 percent of its 2012 sales.
