SEOUL, KOREA - Electric vehicle charging equipment makers have formed a consultative body to address the issue of insufficient charging infrastructure.
13 local electric vehicle charging system providers including SMEs such as PNE Solution, JoongAng Control, KODIS and others and big companies such as Hyosung, LSIS, Hanwha TechM and others have recently launched ‘Electric Vehicle Charging Infrastructure Committee’.
The Committee, which is made up of two specialized subcommittees (legalization and standardization), will be playing a role as an external official channel on behalf of the sector while trying to back up technologies and businesses needed for the establishment of charging infrastructure. It also focuses on improving laws and regulations to facilitate the supply of electric vehicles to the government and set up a standard for charging equipment.
The consultative group is also going to find a way for all SMEs and big companies to work together in developing technologies and entering overseas markets. With the ultimate aim to enhance a private market, it is planning to complement different policies from the Ministry of Environment, the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport. It has a plan to share related statistics and technical information to help hold technology conferences and promote the industry of electric vehicles and charging infrastructure.
충전기 업계, 전기차 충전인프라 문제해결에 힘 모은다
전기차 충전기 업계가 협의체를 구성하고 충전인프라 부족 문제 해결에 팔을 걷고 나섰다.
피엔이솔루션·중앙제어·코디에스 등 중소기업과 효성·LS산전·한화테크엠 등 대기업 총 13개 전기차 충전기 업체는 최근 `충전인프라 협의체(EVCIC)`를 발족했다. 초대 위원장으로 정태영 중앙제어 이사를 선임했다.
협의체는 두 개의 전문 분과위원회(법제화, 표준화)를 구성해 충전인프라 구축에 필요한 기술과 사업에 협력하면서 충전기 업계 대외 공식창구 역할을 담당한다. 정부 전기차 보급을 활성화하는 법·제도 개선과 충전기 표준화 제정에도 주력키로 했다.
시장을 활성화하고자 대중소 상생 협력에도 나선다. 최근 정부의 `중소기업 제품 구매촉진 및 판로지원법` 시행으로 대기업의 시장참여가 제한된 가운데 대중소기업 상생체계를 구축해 기술 개발과 해외시장 개척 등에 협력할 방침이다. 민간시장 유도를 최종 목표로 환경부·산업통상자원부·국토교통부의 각기 다른 정책을 보완하는 작업도 병행한다. 기술학회를 개최, 전기차·충전인프라 산업 진흥을 위한 관련 통계나 기술 정보 등을 공유할 예정이다.
정태영 위원장은 “하반기 국내외 완성차 업체의 전기차가 대거 출시되지만 시장 활성화를 유도할 정책적 받침은 미흡한 상황”이라며 “협의체에서 충전기 표준이나 충전인프라 의무구축 법제화 등 시급한 문제부터 해결할 것”이라고 말했다.
