SEOUL, KOREA - LG Electronics announced on June 17 that it is now engaged in free cholera vaccination activities in Oromia, Ethiopia, together with the International Vaccine Institute. The company has been sponsoring the free cholera vaccination program since 2010. The Oromia region of Ethiopia is now classified as a high-risk cholera area.
LG Electronics invited 50 children and their parents on June 16, the Day of African Children. LG Electronics explained them why vaccination is important and gave souvenirs and gifts.
Until September 2013, LG Electronics plans to tour major towns of the region and promote the importance of vaccination there. From October, LG Electronics, together with the Ethiopian Health & Nutrition Research Institute, will provide free cholera vaccines in the region.
