SEOUL, KOREA- Samsung Electronics' smartphone brand Galaxy ranked No. 1 in Korea's brand value ranking.
Incheon International Airport, KakaoTalk, Jeju Samdasu, and Lotte Mart made a great stride in brand value ranking.
According to the Korea's Top-100 Brands, released by a brand value evaluation company Brandstock, Samsung Galaxy scored 940 points in BSTI, 17 points higher than the No. 2 player E-Mart (923).
Kookmin Bank overtook KT Olleh, ranking No. 3, while Incheon International Airport gained two notches at No. 6, followed by Korean Airlines, Lotte Department Store, Lotte World, Naver, and Shinhan Card.
Among food and beverage brands that are strong especially in times of economic slump, Shin Ramen (No. 12, moved up one spot), Jeju Samdasoo (No. 14, up 4 spots), and Orion Choco Pie (No. 41, up 13 spots) achieved outstanding performances.
Convenience store chains suffered a sharp decline primarily due to the decline in profitability with CU ranking No. 52 (down 16 spots) and 7Eleven No. 99.
