SEOUL, KOREA – South Korean game developer MGame has signed a contract with a British game company to export its MMORPG “Argo” to 31 European nations. Accordingly, South Korean game companies including MGame notched up USD 70 million contracts at the ITS (International Trade Show) Game 2013.
The Korea Creative Content Agency (KOCCA) said Monday that at the ITS (International Trade Show) Game 2013, a 2-day game promotional event held by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in Seoul on June 27, South Korea-based game developers such as MGame, WeGo Interactive and BoardM struck USD 70 million deals.
The ITS Game 2013, attended by 185 South Korean companies and international buyers from 85 foreign companies operating in 20 nations, resulted in 1,420 export consultations.
MGame signed a contact with British game publisher Games-Masters.com to export its MMORPG Argo to Europe. WeGo interactive inked a contract with Chinese game publisher JAMO Games to launch its mobile racing game “Re-Volt Classic” in China.
BoardM also struck a deal with Dutch board game buyer Rocks Games at the ITS Game 2013.

`ITS 게임` 7000만달러 계약 성과
엠게임이 영국 게임업체와 유럽 31개국 수출 계약을 체결한 것을 비롯해 `ITS게임 2013`에서 7000만달러 수출계약을 이뤄냈다.
한국콘텐츠진흥원(원장 홍상표)은 문화체육관광부가 지난달 27일부터 이틀간 서울 쉐라톤 워커힐호텔에서 연 국제 게임수출 상담회 `ITS게임 2013`에서 엠게임을 비롯해 위고인터랙티브, 보드엠 등이 7000만달러 규모 계약 성과를 거뒀다고 1일 밝혔다.
이번 수출상담회에는 국내 기업 185개 사와 세계 20여개국 85개 업체 바이어와 퍼블리셔가 참가해 1420여건의 상담이 이뤄졌다.
특히 엠게임(대표 권이형)은 영국의 게임 퍼블리셔인 게임스마스터즈닷컴과 온라인롤플레잉게임(MMORPG) `아르고`의 유럽 서비스 계약을 체결했다. 또 위고인터렉티브는 중국 게임 퍼블리셔 자모게임즈와 모바일 레이싱 게임 `리볼트클래식`의 중국 서비스 계약을 맺었다.
보드게임 개발사 보드엠도 네덜란드 보드 게임 바이어 록스게임스와 현장에서 수출계약을 교환했다.
권이형 엠게임 대표는 “`게임스마스터즈닷컴`과의 돈독한 파트너십으로 `열혈강호 온라인` 수출 계약에 이어 `아르고`의 수출까지 체결하게 됐다”며 “`아르고`가 유럽에서 성공적으로 자리잡을 수 있도록 최선을 다하겠다”고 전했다.
이번 행사는 취업박람회, 투자유치 설명회와 함께 진행됐다.
취업박람회에서는 9개 학교 300여명의 게임분야 우수인재들이 직접 자신이 준비한 포트폴리오로 130여개 게임업계 인사담당자들과 면접을 했다.
홍상표 한국콘텐츠진흥원장은 “앞으로 `ITS게임`의 내실을 다지고 규모를 확대해 세계 최대 게임 수출상담회로 키우겠다”며 “하반기에 진행되는 해외 유명 게임쇼에도 한국공동관을 운영해 우리 게임의 해외진출을 이어나가도록 지원하겠다”고 말했다.
