SEOUL, KOREA – US market researcher Strategy Analytics (SA) said Sunday that Samsung has achieved the highest brand preference rating of +58.7 in the latest Strategy Analytics Technology Brand Preference Index. The research, published in "Technology Brand Preference Index June 2013", also found that Microsoft (26.5) leapfrogged Apple (22.4) into third place, while Toshiba (18.7) leapt five places to the No.6 and Sony (47.8) ranked 2nd.
HP finished 5th with 19.7, followed by Toshiba (18.7), LG (18.6), Panasonic (15.4), Philips (14.2) and Dell (9.8).
Motorola, Panasonic and Apple were the weakest performers over the past two quarters, while Chinese brands Lenovo and Huawei still languish at the foot of the Index, SA said.

삼성전자, IT기업 브랜드 선호도 1위…애플은 4위
삼성전자가 미국과 유럽에서 진행된 시장조사업체의 기술 기업 브랜드 선호도 조사에서 최고점을 받았다.
미국 스트래티지애널리틱스(SA)는 지난 6월 기준으로 IT기업 브랜드 선호도 조사에서 삼성이 58.7점을 받아 최고점을 기록했다고 14일 발표했다. 2위는 47.8점을 받은 소니가, 3위는 26.5점을 받은 마이크로소프트(MS)가 차지했다. 애플은 MS에 4.1점차 밀리면서 4위에 그쳤다. 이어 HP(19.7), 도시바(18.7), LG(18.6), 파나소닉(15.4), 필립스(14.2), 델(9.8) 순이었다.
SA는 모토로라와 파나소닉, 애플 3개사가 지난 두 분기 동안 가장 미미한 실적을 보였으며, 레노버와 화웨이 등 중국 업체들은 여전히 최하위권에 머물고 있다고 밝혔다.
