SEOUL, KOREA – Samsung Electronics said Monday that its 55-inch, 65-inch UHD TVs’ picture quality has been certified by the US’s UL, the UK’s Intertek and Germany’s TÜV Rheinland. These international certifiers evaluated the Samsung UHD TV F9000’s color reproduction, viewing angle, resolution, luminance uniformity, etc.
The US’s UL also tested the Samsung UHD TV F9000’s “One Connect” function, which hides a tangle of wires so as to allow one cable to connect to the TV and the “Smart Evolution Kit” function that upgrades the TV’s software to the latest version.
Germany’s TÜV Rheinland tested and certified basic smart functions, such as Internet access, SNS and video playing, voice-activated smart recommendations, two-hand gesture recognition, facial recognition and the touch pad. Germany’s TÜV Rheinland has certified both the Samsung Smart TV F8000 and the F7000.
The Samsung UHD TV comes with Quad Detail Engine, a 4-stage picture quality processing technology that can upgrade general video images into UHD levels.

삼성전자 UHD TV, 세계 유수기관으로부터 우수 화질 인증
삼성전자는 55•65인치 초고해상도(UHD) TV가 미국 UL, 영국 인터텍, 독일 TUV 라인란드 등 세계적인 인증기관으로부터 화질 성능을 인정받았다고 15일 밝혔다. 이들 기관은 삼성전자의 UHD TV F9000을 대상으로 색 표현력, 휘도 균일도, 시야각, 해상도 등 다양한 항목을 검증하고 화질 성능 인증서를 발급했다.
UL은 복잡한 케이블을 숨기고 하나의 선만 사용해 연결 편의성을 높인 `원 커넥트(One Connect)` 기능과 UHD TV 소프트웨어를 최신 성능으로 개선해주는 `스마트 에볼루션` 기능도 평가했다.
TUV 라인란드는 인터넷, 소셜네트워크서비스(SNS), 동영상 재생 등 기본적인 스마트 기능을 비롯해 언어 인식 기능을 활용한 스마트 추천, 양손 모션 인식, 얼굴 인식, 터치 패드 등 고급 기능을 평가해 인증을 부여했다. TUV 라인란드는 삼성 스마트TV F8000과 F7000 모델도 스마트 기기 인증을 했다.
삼성전자 UHD TV는 4단계 화질 처리 기술인 `쿼드 디테일 엔진`을 적용해, 일반 영상도 UHD급의 화질을 제공한다.
