SEOUL, KOREA – LG Electronics said Tuesday that its full-HD strategic smartphone “the LG Optimus G Pro” will be launched in 40 nations.
Determined to exploit explosive growth in the LTE smartphone market, LG Electronics will expand the Optimus G Pro’s launch, slated for the third quarter of this year, to 40 nations including Italy, other EU nations, CIS (Commonwealth of Independent States) and the Middle East.
The 5.5-inch full HD Optimus G Pro features a 1.7㎓ quad core Snapdragon 600 processor, 2GB RAM and a variety of user experiences. The Optimus G Pro, bound for overseas markets, basically comes with the “Value Pack,” which brings a range of features such as “Smart Video” that recognizes your eyes and pause a video if you look away by using eye tracking technology, “Dual Camera” using the front and back cameras at the same time for stills and “Pause & Resume Recording” that brings Vine-style seamless video cuts.

LG전자(대표 구본준)가 풀HD 전략 스마트폰 `옵티머스G 프로`의 글로벌 출시국을 40개국으로 확대한다고 16일 밝혔다.
LG전자는 폭발적으로 성장하는 글로벌 롱텀에벌루션(LTE) 스마트폰 시장을 공략하기 위해 이번주 이탈리아를 시작으로 3분기 내 유럽, 중남미, 독립국가연합(CIS), 중동 등 약 40개국에 옵티머스G 프로를 확대 출시한다.
옵티머스G 프로는 1.7㎓ 쿼드코어 퀄컴 스냅드래곤 600프로세서, 2GB 램, 5.5인치 풀HD IPS 디스플레이 등을 탑재했고 다양한 사용자경험(UX)도 제공한다. 글로벌 시장에 출시하는 옵티머스G 프로는 밸류팩 기능이 기본 탑재된다. 밸류팩은 눈동자 인식 기술을 활용한 `스마트 비디오`, 사진 촬영 시 촬영자도 화면에 함께 담는 `듀얼 카메라`, 동영상 촬영 중 일시 정지한 후 연이어 촬영하는 `레코딩 일시정지` 등을 포함한다.
옵티머스G 프로는 지난달 네덜란드 암스테르담에서 열린 세계 최대 LTE 전시회 `LTE 월드 서밋 2013`에서 `베스트 LTE 디바이스상`을 수상했고 지난 3월에는 세계 3대 디자인상 중 하나인 `레드닷 디자인 어워드`를 수상하는 등 세계적으로 성능과 디자인을 인정받고 있다.
박종석 LG전자 MC사업본부장 부사장은 “옵티머스G 프로는 성능과 디자인에서 이미 인정을 받은 제품”이라며 “한국과 미국 등에서의 성공 체험을 바탕으로 글로벌 LTE 스마트폰 시장을 본격적으로 공략하겠다”고 말했다.
