SEOUL, KOREA - LG Electronics is taking steps in earnest to promote the "Green Campus" project, aimed at saving energy.
On July 22, the company signed an agreement with Masan University in South Gyeongsang Province to provide system air-conditioners, automatic control systems, and building energy management systems (BEMS).
Under terms of the agreement, LG Electronics will install high-efficiency cooling and heating systems in major buildings of the university, while putting in an integrated automatic control system and a BEMS for existing cooling and heating systems there.
LG Whisen system air-conditioners Multi V Super IV models that LG Electronics will supply to the university are applied with ultra-high-speed inverter compressors, thereby acquiring the best energy-efficiency grade.
System boilers can reuse waste heat generated during the process of heating and cooling, enabling users to save energy cost by more than 50 percent compared to existing gas boilers.
Masan University hopes to reduce its energy consumption by more than 20 percent a year, as well as to reduce the emissions of greenhouse gases, turning itself into a green campus.
