SEOUL, KOREA- Sony released a high-end small camera RX series—RX100 II and RX1R. The company held a press conference on August 6 in Seoul where it unveiled the two upscale camera models, the follow-up of RX100 and RX1 that it released last year.
Compared to its previous version, the RX100 II features an improvement in photographing convenience and compatibility with a variety of mobile devices. Newly strengthened is a tilt LCD that enables users to create a variety of compositions.
The RX100 II is also added with NFC and Wi-Fi features, making it easier for users to send their photos and videos to mobile phones.
Sony’s proprietary image sensor makes it possible to take clear photos and full-HD videos even in dark environment.
The RX1R is a lens-integrated full-frame camera that is smaller than DSLR cameras but its image sensor is two times larger than those of DSLR cameras. Mounted with a 24.3-megapixel full-frame Exmor CMOS image sensor, the RX1R is safe from noise problems.
Sony Korea plans to launch pre-order sales for a limited number of these models from August 7 through its Sony Store website (store.sony.co.kr).
