Korea Display Industry Association (KDIA) chair company Samsung Electronics LCD will display centering around New Technology and Applications which can create new market and value added products which can give useful value to users at this year's IMID 2007.

Noteworthy products are the 46 inch LCD panel for TV, 4.3inch HTSP multitouch panel, next-generation products including 14.1 inch AM-OLED and 14.3 inch color flexible display according to Lee Sang-wan, chief executive officer of Samsung Electronics' LCD.

About its background Samsung Electronics LCD has mounted the throne as the number one company in the world during five consecutive years, Lee pinpoints the management's investment strategy, technology differentiation, product standardization's initiative plus having secured synthetic competitiveness.

Regarding, first off, the management's investment strategy which foresees two to three years by means of thorough market forecast and analysis, Samsung Electronics LCD Business carried through line investment boldly at that time when IMF bailout program was taking effect in 1998. Thirdly, Lee points out that the most important technology standard in the LCD market is product size standardization. In that regard, Samsung Electronics LCD Business has assumed leadership of the LCD product standardization all the time during several years in 12.1 inch, 14.1 inch, 17 inch, 19 inch, 23 inch, 26 inch, 32 inch, 40 inch and 46 inch markets. Moreover, Samsung Electronics LCD Business plans to capture the 50 inch level market centering on 52 inch from August, 2007.

Based on synthetic competitiveness into which excellent talent unearths and nurtures, new technology, market forecast and preceding investment were geared organically, Samsung Electronics LCD Business will do its best to secure continuous competitiveness, Lee epitomized.

In conjunction with management plans such as production maximization and cost innovation according to LCD market condition improvements, the CEO said: "Samsung Electronics LCD Business will secure the largest production CAPA."

The Montblanc project, for the sake of cost innovation, is being applied to TV, monitor, notebook some products right now. Samsung Electronics LCD Business is operating SLJ-Network (Samsung LCD JIT Network) propulsion T/F for the sake of the more perfect logistics system construction from this year.

With regard to examples Samsung Electronics LCD Business pursues high value-adds through technology differentiation such as high resolution product, Lee named first of all 24 inch high-resolution for monitor.

As of third quarter of 2007, Samsung Electronics LCD Business accounts for over 50% with 54.4% in terms of shipment amount of 24 inch for monitors, going before AU Optronics 16.3%, Chi Mei 10.5%, CPT 2.1%, and LG Philips 16.7%.

Secondly, Samsung Electronics product embeds 120Hz technology in LCD panels whereas its rival company adds 120Hz technology in TV set product.

Thirdly, Samsung Electronics LCD Business has developed 30inch LCD for monitor on July, 2007, which applied display port technology, a next-generation standard video interface, for the first time among its same business circles.
