SEOUL, KOREA - DataStreams, a South Korea-based big data management company, said on August 26 that it has obtained a patent on readable symmetric cryptosystem and readable symmetric decryption, the key to its test data management solution “TeraTDS.”

In contrast to existing encryption methods that transform encoded data into unreadable forms, TeraTDS has adopted a readable symmetric cryptosystem (RSC) as its data conversion method. TeraTDS’s RSC guarantees excellent data readability since it makes sure that data is converted into readable forms. Besides, it promises uniqueness by maintaining the characteristics of original data.

TeraTDS’s readable symmetric decryption is a method that decodes data encrypted by the RSC at high speed. TeraTDS’s readable symmetric decoding system creates a decoding rule internally by receiving information on the key used in encryption. The created decoding rule introduces an internally created algorithm to carry out decryption at a speed of O (n). As TeraTDS’s readable symmetric decryption entails low system loads, its decryption of high-volume data still guarantees decent speeds that exceed users’ expectations. In addition, since all the decryption processes are done in the memory, TeraTDS’s readable symmetric decoding can serve as a solution to security issues.

DataStreams’s winning of a patent on such technologieshas enabledTeraTDSTM to boast unrivalled technological competitiveness in the market.

The need for TeraTDS , a solution that safely converts customer information stored in the operational system into test data in the case of developing systems or setting up test environments, has grown as part of the financial sector and public institutions’ efforts to effectively handle their huge volumes of customer information across the board. TeraTDS also makes development and tests easy and helps nip the possibility of data leaks in the bud.

DataStreams’s newly-earned patent can be viewed as a feat that crowns the technological prowess and professionalism of DataStreams which has continued to invest in R&D (research and development) since its inception in 2001.
