Kakao Group, launched on September 5, attracted 1 million subscribers on the first day, grabbing the No. 1 spot at App Store’s free app category. It also rose to No. 1 at Google Play’s free app category in three days after being launched. On its sixth day, it surpassed the 5-million user milestone with the number of its groups passing 2.5 million.
Kakao Group was developed to meet the needs of Kakao users who hoped to share photos and chatting with the members of their chatting room only. With intuitive and core function-focused designs, Kakao Group can be used easily by anyone regardless of their age.
To celebrate the launching of the Kakao Group service, Kakao plans to provide “Kakao Friends Happy Together” sticker icons to those who open new groups at Kakao Group until September 17.
