SEOUL, KOREA - A wireless network is an integration of devices such as personal computers (PCs), laptops, personal digital assistants (PDAs), server, printers and now, even smartphones and the like. Enabling communication between these devices to create one unified platform for application and information-sharing, it has significantly changed the way information is transmitted within units of similar functionality.

Growing by leaps and bounds at the turn of the century, wireless devices have undeniably proven their stance as an integral part of many public and private sectors for more efficiency carrying out of day-to-day operations. Needless to say, wireless networks have drastically advanced from a single-device network called Wireless PAN (personal area network) to a multiple-device information-sharing network called Wireless WAN (wide area network) through the constant change in demands and more importantly, the advancement of technology creating more complex interaction between devices.

With this upswing in the world of information technology brings a bigger responsibility to protect information contained within the system and the system itself requiring security applications that can withstand the growing number of malicious intruders. The risks have surged even higher with smartphones coming into the picture.

To this end, wireless network security products have mushroomed to respond promptly to this ever-growing need. However, among the array of companies that have attempted to address the issue, one stands out as it has proven itself more than capable in providing the best security system in the worldwide market.

KORNIC GLORY introduces AIRTMS, a Wireless Intrusion Prevention System (WIPS) which solely utilizes domestic technology but has been certified with Common Criteria EAL 4. In IT parlance, EAL (Evaluation Assurance Level) provides higher confidence on a system’s soundness in terms of its principal security feature.

AIRTMS authenticates all wireless devices in a wireless network and detects unauthorized wireless connections and Denial of Service attacks on the network. A solution equipped with an integrated hacking device detection technology, it can detect MAC-spoofed devices. In addition, through precise wireless device tracking technology designed to effectively function within the facilities for operation, this product provides access to authorized users only within the bounds of their power preventing connection to unauthorized external AP, thus stymieing confidential data spill.

Through linkages created by AIRTMS, MobileIron, an MDM solution, another product provided by KORNIC GLORY is used to monitor and manage employee’s mobile devices. This solution manages smartphones’ and mobile devices’ information to prevent security breaches and other untoward incidences. Through this function, unauthorized entry and misuse of information can be properly monitored resulting in a highly-controlled environment.

Currently, statistics shows AIRTMS performs 10 times better than other existing products and maintains the highest prevention rate in the market.  Providing timely security policy updates, this cutting-edge technology armors wireless networks with the ability to ward off even the latest wireless security issues and vulnerabilities.

Moreover, KORNIC GLORY offers Threat Management System, a product with proven efficiency that takes up 90% of the TMS market share in Korea. By integrating these wired and wireless products, the company guarantees a total solution protecting both wired and wireless network environments.

Jo Myong-jae, KORNIC GLORY: The Journey to Success

Jo Myong-jae, CEO of KORNIC GLORY Co., Ltd.

Jo Myong-jae, CEO of KORNIC GLORY Co., Ltd. was born in Daegu City of Gyeongsangbuk-do. He is a proud alumnus of Korea University majoring in Business Administration. His humble beginnings included working for LG International for three years; however, the big corporate arena was not exactly his line of interest, so he left.

Soon after, he founded a company of his own with seed money of 2 million Won. Due to failure in financing and lack of experience, the business eventually went bankrupt. Nevertheless, his thirst for independence and unequaled guts led him into acquiring priceless experiences he wouldn’t have gained otherwise.

KORNIC GLORY Co., Ltd. was established in 2007 as a spinoff company from KORNIC System (currently called AP Systems) where Jo Myong-jae used to work as CFO. KORNIC GLORY Co., Ltd. went IPO(Independent Publicly Owned Company) within two months after  establishment, and it currently has two subsidiary companies, EMT (http://www.emtcorp.com) and Neoplant (http://neoplant.co.kr).

In December of 2012, while fusing Infosec Corporation’s Security Department and KORNIC GLORY’s existing Network Department, the company also founded the System Integration (SI) Business department to expand its business area. In 2013, the fusion of the respective departments was followed by a merger between KORNIC GLORY and Infosec Security. The merger has brought about tremendous changes to provide even more competent services to meet the market’s demand.

As an exclusive distributor of various network equipment, KORNIC GLORY holds vast distribution channels worldwide. In the business security category of products, Threat Management System has the biggest market share (maximum of 90% in the TMS sector) gaining various experiences from simple business networks to national infrastructure. Through the merger that transpired, the company was able to coalesce two different business areas, the private and public sectors, bringing a more powerful and aggressive stance in the market.  With the current network security issues the society is facing at the moment, the company is sure to address these concerns with utmost expertise and persistence.

Market Strategy for KORNIC GLORY

Firmly establishing their business platform to lead the security domain with the best wired and wireless integrated security solutions, KORNIC GLORY is concentrating on sales to financial and public sectors in the second half of this year.

Due to the increased usage of smartphones in wireless network environments, KORNIC GLORY has devised a plan to expand its market catering to enterprises and financial and public sectors as the risks of data spill continuously rise. Although most foreign WIPS vendors are focused on the private and financial sectors, KORNIC GLORY holds teeming with customers from the public sector as its current priority.

A strategy adopted from Infosec Security, the public sector holds a lot of potential for greater market reach and consequently, a further education on the importance of wireless network security. With the growing demand for WIPS, the company aims to augment its market share by up to 50%. Given that the company has just started its SI business in the public sector earlier this year, they have already skillfully landed many contracts in a short amount of time.

Alongside its priority target market is the move towards promotion of Smart Work, Mobile Office and Mobile Diagnostic System in the industrial sectors that need such systems for better efficiency in operations. Enhancing the adoption of wireless network security systems in a multitude of areas, KORNIC GLORY aims to create a society of secured and highly-functional wireless network environments.

Since the market demands WIPS to be optimized to mobile security these days, and while AIRTMS is able to provide linkage with MDM, MAM, AP controllers, and wireless authentication server, it makes AIRTMS the most effective and optimized product to implement wired and wireless integrated security solutions to a spectrum of industries.

With firm distribution channels and competitive solution development skills, KORNIC GLORY is expanding its market domination and aiming to make 100 billion won in sales by 2015.

“We will constantly grow as one of the biggest major players in IT to provide total solutions in system, network, and security.” explained Jo Myong-jae, CEO.
