SEOUL, KOREA- Samsung Electronics announced on October 3 that it will display a large format display (LFD) with an ultra-slim bezel at the 44th Korea Electronics Show 2013, scheduled to open on October 7 at KINTEX in Ilsan.The thickness of the LFD's bezel is similar to the combined thickness of four credit cards. The left- and top-side bezel of the 55-inch LFD (product named UD55D) both have a thickness of 2.4 mm, while those of right- and bottom-side bezel is 1.3 mm. When they are connected horizontally and vertically, the thickness of the connected area is mere 3.7 mm.

This is the first time for the thickness of the connected area to be reduced to below 3 mm. This figure represents about a 35-percent reduction compared to existing products. Samsung Electronics minimized the thickness of the bezel through reduction in the number of parts by using high-efficiency LED. Even when operating a video wall for all year round, it can maintain the highest level of image quality and brightness.

Samsung Electronics expects it to be used widely for video walls at large stores, signboards at universities and hospitals, and monitoring rooms at public organizations.
