Earlier in March this year, E-Land had been selected as the company to lead a project to develop a 1-million-square-meter theme park in Aewol village in the west of Jeju City. The gigantic project involves building concert halls, an international convention center, restaurant rows, and resort hotels within the compound by 2022.
"Within a few years, the first stage of the theme park construction will be completed, beginning with a hotel early next year. To create the world's best theme park, we will work hard to develop our own content," he said. As part of this, the company will organize as many concerts and performances of "Korean Wave" stars as possible, taking full advantage of the popularity of these actors and singers to Chinese and other Asian tourists to the island.
